The Choirs and Ensembles of First Presbyterian Church
MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADULTS:
THE CHANCEL CHOIR
The choir can always accommodate good voices! It is volunteer, and requires your commitment of time and talent. They prepare music in a variety of styles, from great oratorios of the past to the finest of contemporary and folk music. Opportunities exist to lead in 8:00 a.m. worship for solos or small ensembles. You can choose to participate in our Sunday service choir, which rehearses from 7:30 - 8:20 p.m. Thursdays, or our Project choir (Chamber Choir), which prepares music for special presentations throughout the year and rehearses Thursdays from 8:30 - 9:30 p.m., or you can participate in both. THE CHANCEL RINGERS
The Chancel Ringers is a select group of 12 handbell players who take a leadership role in defining our outstanding handbell ministry. This group has performed extensively, plays challenging music, and celebrates the joys of being in fellowship together through music. They lead in our traditional services about once every 6 weeks, and membership is limited.
THE NEW CHIMERS
This adult choir is comprised of members who are interested in learning the art of handbell playing. The choir meets Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:15 p.m., plays in worship about every six weeks, and plays for special occasions, too.
