What does it mean to join a small study group?
From Being The Body, a book by Charles Colson with Ellen Vaughn:
The church, as the body of Christ, bears present witness to how the coming Kingdom will be. It is a testimonial community in word and deed; a holy nation; a royal priesthood of believers. It is not a gathering of individuals each holding a private and separate relationship with his creator but one fellowship committing to each other in accountability and discipline united in faith, guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit. The word fellowship, used in this way, has a distinct meaning derived from the Greek word, koinonia: a community, sharing in common, bearing each other’s burdens to build each other up to the Lord.
