First Pres Travelers trip: “On the Road to Pittsburgh”
Come join the First Pres Travelers on “The Road to Pittsburgh.” The trip on June 6-7 will involve many eclectic activities. We will observe the building of Harley Davidson motorcycles in York. There will be an opportunity to visit the Flight 93 Memorial and the Que Creek Mine Rescue site in Somerset County. The Hyatt Place Meadows Racetrack Hotel will offer us a splendid evening of recreation and rest. On Friday, a 2-hour tour of Pittsburgh with a step-on guide will precede a ride on the Duquesne Incline. After lunch we will visit two of Frank Lloyd Wright’s designed homes: Falling Water and Kentuck Knob. Cost is $349pp DBL, $339pp TRP, $329pp Quad, $419pp SNGL.

TRIP SCHEDULE
Thursday June 6
6:30AM Depart West Chester
8:30 AM Tour the Harley Factory—on this 1 hour guided tour you will get an intimate view of Harley-Davidson’s assembly line and fabrication areas. Fully-enclosed, low-heeled (one inch or less) shoes are required.
10AM Depart with a lunch stop en route “on own”
1:00 PM Arrive for your visit to the Flight 93Memorial, we will drop you at the Visitor’s center where you can explore the displays and enjoy the spectacular view of the lower memorial and Tower of voices. If you are feeling adventurous, you may walk the path of the memorial.
2:30 PM Depart for the Quecreek Mine Rescue site
3:00 PM Arrive at Quecreek where you can walk right up to the rescue shaft where the miners emerged from the dark, cold mine 240 feet below after 77 hours of frigid darkness. Hear the story of the miracle from people personally involved in the rescue. Touch the rescue capsule and try to imagine how it would feel to squeeze into it with your strength nearly gone.
4:00 PM Depart for the Hyatt Place Meadows Racetrack Hotel
This hotel is connected to the Meadows racetrack & Casino & to the Outlets, so enjoy this evening however you please, with many dining and entertainment options for the evening.
Friday June 7
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel
8:30 AM Depart for a 2 hour Pittsburgh Tour with step on guide, ending at the Duquesne Incline
where you can visit the mini museum and enjoy the ride down.
11:30 AM Depart for Fallingwater with a lunch stop “on own” en route
1:30PM Tour Fallingwater - This Frank Lloyd Wright Masterpiece is breathtaking to see and
experience.
2:45 PM Depart for Kentuck Knob—This is one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most unique Usonian homes. You will learn about the Hagan House, & Frank Lloyd Wright and his vision for the home. After the tour, guests can explore the grounds and experience the magnificent view (40-50 miles) of the Youghiogheny River Gorge.
4:00 PM Depart for home with a dinner stop en route.
