JENNIFER ROSENBERG - DIRECTOR
I have been at The Bucket School since 2013 as a teacher in the 2s class and 3s class. I became the Director in 2022. I have a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Marywood University, Scranton, PA. I reside in the Borough of West Chester with my husband, Eric and our 2 boys, Jack and Henry, who are both alumni of the Bucket School. Teaching young children is my passion and I love to watch them grow throughout the years at our school. I'm very excited to be in my new role and will continue to love and educate the children here at The Bucket School.
Two Year Olds
Sharon Hazley
Hi, my name is Sharon Hazley and am so excited to transition from Bucket School mom to Bucket School teacher! All four of my children are bucket school graduates. I have a degree in Elementary Education from WCU and worked in Rose Tree Media SD before becoming a stay at home mom. I currently live in West Chester with my husband and kids-Jack, Brenna, Ellie and Wyatt. Aside from working with children, I enjoy reading, attending my kids sporting events, the Phillies and Flyers and traveling with my family.
Heather Evans
I’m Heather Evans and I have been a substitute teacher with the Bucket School since 2021. This year I am excited to teach the MWF 2s class. I live in West Chester with my husband and two children; Rachael (14) and Elliott (12). I enjoy baking, reading, being active and watching my kids play baseball and softball.
Three Year Olds
EMILY JEFFRIES
Hi, my name is Emily Jeffries and I am delighted to be teaching the three year old class this year at The Bucket School. I love working with children and watching them learn and grow brings me great joy. After graduating from University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 2006 I went on to get my Masters in Elementary Education in 2012. I currently live in West Chester with my husband and two children. My daughter is a Bucket School graduate and she loved her time at the school. Aside from coming up with new, fun ideas for the classroom, I love reading, paddle boarding and spending time at the beach with my family.
LAURA SZILIER
My name is Laura Szilier and I am excited to be teaching the 3s classes at the Bucket School! I was born in Toronto, Canada and moved to the U.S. after graduating from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. I live in West Chester with my husband, Greg, and our two kids, Kiersten and Evan, who also attended the Bucket School. I have a passion for learning and really enjoyed volunteering in my kid's elementary school classrooms and with the PTO. This was a wonderful opportunity to become involved in the school community and assist the teachers in providing a positive learning environment for the students. Most recently, I worked with a local nonprofit organization, Wings for Success, that empowers women and girls in need through education, apparel, and advocacy. In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time at the beach, skiing, playing the piano, music, and spending time with family & friends. I am looking forward to providing a fun and caring early education experience for our Bucket School families!
PATTY TUNNELL
I have been with The Bucket School since 2013, where I started in the 2s room. I currently teach one of the 3-day 3s classes. I live in West Chester with my husband Doug. We have four adult daughters, Megan, Sarah, Madison and Ella. When I am not at school, I like to volunteer at various organizations and enjoy spending time in our favorite place, Ocean City, NJ.
Pre-K (4-5 Year Olds)
LAURIE EVANGELISTA
I have been with the Bucket School since 2021. I previously taught the 2s class and now I teach the 3 day PreK as well as the Thursday READ/STEAM class. I am very excited to be working with the 4 year old class and preparing them for Kindergarten. I live in Pocopson with my 8 children. I enjoy spending time with my children, baking and working out. As a family we love going to the beach.
Sara Getz
Hi, my name is Sara Getz and I am excited to be teaching 3’s at The Bucket School. I love teaching three-year-olds, and witnessing all of their “aha moments.” I graduated from West Chester University with an Elementary Education Degree and Masters of Literacy. I grew up in York County, PA and chose to stay in West Chester after college for all of the wonderful things Chester County has to offer. I live with my husband, David, and 2 kids Leo and Jocelyn. Jocelyn is a Bucket School graduate. We also have a dog named Roux. I enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
MELISSA KOONS
I have been working at the Bucket School since 2019. I have taught in the 2s class, the 3s class and now teach the 3 day Pre-K. I also teach Physical Education to all of the Bucket School classes. I have an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (University of Maryland - 2004) and a Masters in Health Education (WCU - 2008). I have taught in public and private schools in the Chester County area as well as Howard County, MD. I grew up in the West Chester area and currently reside in the area with my family. Two of my children are Bucket School graduates and one is currently attending the Bucket school. I love coaching sports and being active with family/friends. I am always up for taking on any adventure.
SUE PROCHNAU
Hi, my name is Sue Prochnau. My husband and I have lived in the area for over 20 years. We have two sons, who are Bucket School graduates. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in business and computer science from Ursinus College and was a programmer for 12 years prior to having children. I have been teaching at the Bucket School since 2012 and have taught in the 2 year old, 3 year old, and pre-k classes. I love Science and Math and particularly enjoy teaching the science enrichment to curious preschoolers. In my free time I enjoy cooking, kayaking, hiking, and reading.
TRICIA SOKURENKO
Hello, my name is Tricia Sokurenko and I am excited to start teaching Pre-K at the Bucket School this year. My husband and I have 2 girls, Ella (15) and Lauren (12), and have lived in West Chester for 18 years. My younger daughter graduated from Bucket School. I have a Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy and worked in a hospital setting for 25 years. I changed my direction or focus to enjoying my family. I also enjoy exercising, baking, and watching my girls play soccer.
