Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children training class
Adult education is key to preventing child abuse. Darkness to Light understands that learning the facts about child abuse helps prevent it. Darkness to Light exists to empower adults through awareness and educational programs to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child abuse.
Using Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children, our authorized facilitator, Steve Douglas, offers practical prevention training with a conversational, real-world approach. This one-session class is required by First Presbyterian Church for anyone employed by First Pres regardless of their contact with children and anyone with access to a church key and access card to the church. It is also required for any volunteer who works with children and/or youth, unless the volunteer can provide documentation of completion of a comparable child abuse prevention training.
